Terms of Service
Last updated: October 3, 2026
1. The Service
Cyvasse (the "Service", "we", "us") is operated by McRitchie Studio LLC (doing business as McRitchie Studio). The Service is the website cyvasse.xyz, formerly cyvasse.mcritchie.studio, where you can learn and play Cyvasse against the computer and against other players, and the emails we send about it.
Cyvasse is free to play. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
2. The Game and Its Source
Cyvasse is a game described in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. The books do not give its full rules; the rules played here are our own, drawn from the books, and are explained on the Rules page. The Service is a fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by George R. R. Martin, his publishers or HBO, and the names and works of A Song of Ice and Fire belong to their owners.
3. Accounts
You can read the public pages and play the computer without an account. Online play needs an account, which you open by signing in with a link we email to you, or with Google where we offer it. Play Now can also give you a temporary guest account in your browser. There are no passwords.
Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can use a sign-in link we send there. Tell us at once if you believe someone else has used your account.
Your username is public. It must not impersonate another person, the Service or its staff.
4. Fair Play and Conduct
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten or abuse other players, or send them unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit messages;
- impersonate any person or entity;
- interfere with a game, the leaderboard or another player's account, or try to reach any part of the Service you are not allowed to;
- scrape, overload or disrupt the Service, or reverse engineer it;
- use the Service for anything unlawful.
Messages between players can be read by the Service's administrators, to keep the game friendly (see the Privacy Policy).
5. Computer Players
Some opponents are computer players. A computer player's chat may be written by an AI model. Its words are not ours, may be wrong, and are not advice.
6. Your Content
You keep ownership of the messages you send and the profile photo you add. You give us a licence to store, display and transmit them only as needed to run the Service: to show your messages to the player you sent them to, and your photo to the players you play.
7. Games, Records and the Leaderboard
Every move in an online match is checked by the Service against its rules, and its result is final once the match ends. An online match that is not played live has a clock, and a player who runs out of time forfeits. We may correct a record or a leaderboard entry that is wrong, and we may change the rules of the game, as the Rules page records.
8. Ending Your Use
You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may ask us to close your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, or end the Service, at any time.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a game, record or message will be kept indefinitely.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law permits, McRitchie Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they were last revised. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
